Social Media Usage Factoids

80% of shoppers post their purchase info online.  40% Deal Shop.  We've just connected the dots to where everyone wins... except for the bloated middle-man!

And the digital slicing-up of the American consumer hits a new low:
SEE: Amazon has launched a new social commerce tool....

To this I say: More "Takers".
More technocrat gluttons "mining" regular people to ultimately exploit them.

And to those advertisers who are pouring money into the click ad model with a dismal .01% effective rate, you are being taken advantage of.  And to add insult to injury, the click ad is now virtually "invisible" due to a thing called "banner blindness".  It's a phenomenon where web users subconciously ignore information on webpages from ad-like banners.  READ MORE HERE.  The method of advertising we've been subjected to online is a relic from the 20th century.  It's been shoe-horned into the web and it is a very, very poor fit.  When is it enough?  We say NOW.

Thankfully, instead of complaining we have a solution:

 

Advertising is out.  "People-tising" is the new approach.

    When you look at the online sharing habits of over 2 Billion facebook users, then see the revenue generated by these activities, all you really need to do is CONNECT THE DOTS as we have to see the enormous potential of the Buddy platform that MONETIZES SOCIAL MEDIA PRODUCT PURCHASE POSTS.

     

     

  2. THE HUGE POTENTIAL NO ONE IS ADDRESSING

    ...while Google pulls in over $50 Billion in online ad revenue through their "AdWords" Pay-Per-Click model to generate a small portion of the sales noted above.

    Alternately, with BBB, merchants offer "deals" through the BBB redeem mechanism, and pay AFTER SALES have been made.  A far more attractive proposition for merchants than paying for people to simply visit your site as with PPC.

With all this "social sharing" and "social media purchase decisions" being made with social media, isn't it time we make those efforts worthwhile for consumers?  Don't you think whoever does that FIRST is going to really set the pace for change here and succeed bigly?
